We can take you, in half a million pictures, to see the astoundingly varied landscapes, cities, towns, villages and buildings of the British Isles from pre-historic times to this very day, the people, the industries, events, customs and traditions - and almost everything else to be found in these unusually interesting islands.
This website is for browsing only, and getting to know us. But it is fully linked to our on-line site, www.collectionspicturelibrary.co.uk where you can find all the same pictures plus many thousands of others.
The whole point of Collections is to have as near to everything on the British Isles as we can reasonably manage but it does not make much sense to digitise every tiny village or obscure event we have on file that just might be needed once every 10 years. Still there are well over 1000 images on this website intended to give you a more than reasonable taste of Collections.
You are welcome to use this like a catalogue, of course, and order by the number with each picture, or follow the links and the simple instructions if you prefer to deal with us on-line.
Whatever, remember that for every one on your screen we may have dozens of alternatives in our old-fashioned analogue files - perhaps more appropriate to your requirements! We are always happy to advise.
