What’s New.

The Green Bridge of Wales, St Govans, Pembrokeshire coast national park, Wales. Ian MurrayThere are no well defined new collections this time, but plenty of new pictures. Every year there appears to be a trend among submissions, last year everybody seemed to have been to North Yorkshire, this year it is the seaside. We have been sent masses of pictures of the coast, especially the south and east. Beaches, piers, cliffs, errosion, sea defences... “Coast” returns some 2500 pictures so we’ll let you find wherever you are after with the search box below. Chesterton Windmill designed as an observatory and later converted for use as a windmill overlooks The Fosse Way Warwickshire. Robert EstallAnother feature that is cropping up regularly at the moment is windmills. So if you just want a picture of a windmill or you need to illustrate the differences between tower mills, post mills and smock mills, or even wind pumps and wind turbines then I think we can help. Mostly thanks to Brian Gibbs we have a lot more historical re-enactments than before as well. So there are Romans, Vikings, Medieval peasants and the Civil war, fighting, weaving, cooking and doing whatever it was they were supposed to have done, though all strangely clean and colourful, I’m sure all those white tunics and bonnets will be srtaight in the washing machine with a dose of biological goo when they get home.
